Mustang speeds to victory: Great Falls students win car restoration competition
January 6, 2012 /
It’s full speed ahead.
A group of Great Falls Public Schools high-schoolers won first place in a national car restoration competition for its school-year project of turning a rusted-out 1966 Ford Mustang into a true American classic again.
"It’s real exciting," teacher Joe Wilkins said. "The best thing is that it shows our students have the skill sets to be competitive on a national scale."
With the victory, Ohio Technical College will offer each of the 30 Automotive Service Excellence-certified program students in Wilkins’ class a $10,000 scholarship.
