Missoula Downtown Association Now Accepting Applications for 2012 Caras Park Pavilion Sponsorship Program

Applications are now being accepted for the Caras Park Pavilion Sponsorship
Program for the 2012 events season.

Applications will be reviewed by the Missoula
Downtown Association Board of Directors with the intent to announce the 2011
sponsorship awards in February.

The goal of the Pavilion Sponsorship Program is to assist nonprofit organizations in
producing events at Caras Park that benefit the Missoula community. The MDA
granted $900 in pavilion sponsorships in 2011. Individual awards are granted to
nonprofit events that demonstrate a clear benefit to the Missoula community, bring a
significant number of people to Downtown, and provide a positive image for Caras
Park, Downtown and Missoula.

The Pavilion Sponsorship Program was created when the pavilion was built in 1997.
Since that time, more than 50 nonprofit organizations have benefited from the
program, with over 85 events receiving more than $17,000 in sponsorships from the
MDA.

"Since its inception, the Pavilion Sponsorship Program has played an important role
in assisting local nonprofit organizations produce events that have brought over a
million people to Downtown Missoula," said MDA Board President John Horner.
"Not only has this been a huge economic boon for Missoula, but these nonprofits
have gained invaluable exposure for causes that might not have received the
recognition they deserve."

Applications are available at the MDA office, 218 E Main St., Ste C, or online at
http://www.missouladowntown.com/about/caras-park/. Completed applications must
be received by Friday, January 27, 2012 at 5 p.m.
