Bozeman High’s new class teaches engineering skills
December 20, 2011/
They’re reinventing wheels at Bozeman High School.
Students were busy Monday afternoon designing train engines and wheels on computer screens, learning to use a 3-D modeling program as part of the school’s new engineering design class.
The computer program let each student design an engine or a wheel, then flip it around to see what the design looked like from every angle. Students could then tweak their designs, adding or subtracting material, to make improvements – just like real engineering designers.
