Four women on inaugural Missoula Economic Partnership board

The Missoula Economic Partnership’s http://www.missoulaworks.org inaugural board is made up of strong leaders who will make strong economic development decisions for their community.

The four who accepted are: partnership founding investor and Missoula County Commissioner Jean Curtiss http://www.co.missoula.mt.us/mcbcc/bccprofiles/jcprofile.htm ; founding investor and First Interstate Bank vice president Stacey Mueller https://www.firstinterstatebank.com/ ; president of Poteet Construction Deb Poteet http://www.poteetconstructionservices.com/ ; and Blackfoot Telecommunications Group Chief Executive Officer Joan Mandeville http://www.blackfoot.com/about-blackfoot/key-leadership.shtml .

Women a minority on Missoula boards and commissions

A count of the number of men and women on Missoula boards and commissions shows the bodies are skewed to the men.

And it doesn’t seem to matter whether it’s Mayor John Engen or the Missoula Board of County Commissioners or anyone else making the appointments. Women account for an estimated 36 percent of local government boards and commissions, according to membership lists posted on the Missoula city and county websites.
