Home of the halo: Conner, Montana’s, "Halo Heaven" selling products online to customers all over the world

Sara Cox grew up in the Missoula and Stevensville areas. Homeschooled by her mother, Cox started her first business when she was 12.

Her mother made sweatshirts and pants and sold them at different trade shows around the region. Cox learned to paint colorful designs on children’s faces and made a good bit of money plying that trade.

At one tradeshow, she noticed a woman selling children’s halos adorned with colorful ribbons at a booth across the way. She decided she could do that too, in between face-painting customers.

"I made sure that mine were nicer," Cox said. "Before I knew it, I couldn’t keep up the demand."

That was the niche that she decided to fill.
