Livingston elementary school students are finding out Math Rocks

To better learn basic math skills, Livingston elementary students are singing a little bit each day.

"They see it as fun," instructor Shary Noble said of a new program for kindergarten through fifth-grade students at Livingston schools.

In the Math Rocks program, which is used primarily in East Coast charter schools but came to Livingston three weeks ago, Noble supplements students’ math lessons with singing exercises. The students sing for 10 minutes at the beginning or end of their lunch breaks each day.
