THE MISSOULA ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCES THE DEPARTURE OF JIM BOWMAN

The Missoula Economic Partnership to continue its charge to build local economy.

November 29, 2011 — Missoula, Mont. — The Missoula Economic Partnership has announced the departure of Jim Bowman as president and CEO of the Partnership. Bowman has served in the post since June 2011.

“We respect and value Jim Bowman’s efforts in getting the Missoula Economic Partnership this far. We wish the best for him and his family and his future endeavors,” said Missoula Mayor John Engen.

According to Mr. Bowman, “The Missoula Economic Partnership board and I have different visions and approaches to economic development and to achieving the community’s goals. However, I do believe the Partnership will succeed given its leadership, investor support and collaborative efforts.”

“I want to thank those who had faith in me and provided me with the opportunity to work in Missoula, Montana,” he added. “I am proud of my contributions and am fortunate to have established many new relationships during my time here.”

The Partnership’s leadership team has appointed James Grunke, a project director with National Community Development Services, to fulfill the interim duties of managing the organization. Grunke has been involved with the Partnership and related efforts for the past 18 months and has held similar economic development positions in the past.

“We are beginning the transition process immediately and are pleased that James Grunke will step in,” said Jeff Fee, Missoula Economic Partnership founding investor. “James has been involved in fundraising and strategic direction for the Partnership. He has the experience to manage operations while the Partnership finds the ideal person to lead the organization.”

The Partnership will hold its first annual meeting with investors and strategic partners on November 30. Elections for the Partnership board of directors and officers will be held during the annual meeting. The founding leadership team will also present the organization’s strategic plan, which includes its goals for building Missoula’s economic future.

“The Partnership is moving forward,” added Fee. “We have the support of more than 80 investors, a strong network of strategic partners in the community and region, and a strategic plan for building a robust economic future for Missoula.”
