Flathead County sees economic growth in transportation

The Flathead Valley is one of the most populous areas in Montana that has no major Interstate running through the area for transportation. Once the U.S. Highway 93 bypass is complete people can cruise to their destination, but that might not be complete for a couple of years.

Kalispell Chamber of Commerce President Joe Unterreiner says that in the meantime there are other forms of transportation that help people stay connected with the outside world.

"Transportation is always one of our most important pieces for us to be able to access getting out of the valley and for people who want to connect with us to come in. That works for both commercial purposes for moving freight and goods around the valley but also for visitors coming in. We want to be accessible so they can get into town."
