‘Cat-Griz: ‘Frenemies’ get along better off the field

Montana State University President Waded Cruzado was attending the Big Sky Conference fall meeting in Salt Lake City, discussing athletics with other college presidents, when she checked her Blackberry.

She turned to Royce Engstrom, president of the archrival University of Montana, to share an exciting message.

"We were high-fiving," Cruzado recalled at last week’s Board of Regents meeting, laughing. "People thought we were talking about something else. We were talking about science."
