Greek yogurt manufacturing facility, Chobani – and some 400 jobs – coming to Twin Falls, Idaho

Twin Falls city council members and the urban renewal agency is meeting to vote on an agreement that will bring a Greek yogurt manufacturing facility – and some 400 jobs – to the region.

The vote is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.

In recent months, city officials and local and state economic development leaders have worked behind the scenes in closed door meetings to broker a deal that would lure the New York-based yogurt company to the region to build a facility for the western region of the U.S.

Those efforts began in May, when Agro Farma, the New York-based parent company of Chobani http://www.chobani.com/about/agrofarma , contacted the Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization for information.
