New app shows off historic downtown Billings, Montana

Over the years, history buffs have relied on walking tours led by historians or printed guides for information about older buildings in downtown Billings.

Now, they can use 21st century technology to learn about the past.

A free app http://walkhistoricbillings.com/ of a tour of historic downtown buildings has been created through a partnership between The Yellowstone Historic Preservation Board and the Western Heritage Center.

An app is a software application used on smartphones or other mobile devices such as iPads and iPods.
