Montana Board of Regents want campuses to set priorities, find savings

Money is tight, faculty salaries are low, pensions are puny and the Legislature is diverting dollars to the wrong things, Montana State University professors said Thursday.
Their complaints were aired during a "listening session" held by Sheila Stearns, commissioner of higher education, and two members of the Montana Board of Regents, Regent Stephen Barrett of Bozeman and student Regent Joe Thiel of MSU.
