Iowa wind power progress an example for Montana

Recently in Ames, Iowa, Republican presidential candidates met for the traditional "straw poll" that signals the beginning of the upcoming election. Like many Montanans, many Iowans tend to be conservative, common-sense people who are focused on making a living off their land. Iowa, like Montana, depends upon exporting its agricultural goods to other states and countries.

These candidates – such as Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain and Thaddeus McCotter – met at TPI Composites to place their signatures on a 130-foot wind turbine blade that the company manufactures. TPI employs over 700 workers who produce these blades in a state that, similar to Montana, has a great wind resource.
