Interest in entrepreneurship at Montana State University grows with donation and stalled job market

Montana State University students are taking an interest in entrepreneurship because not many jobs are available, a MSU official said.

The number of students in the entrepreneurship minor and taking classes on starting a business has increased in the past year, said Scott Bryant, executive director of the university’s Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship in the New West.

TechRanch http://www.techranch.org/ has helped push Montana to be named the country’s best state for entrepreneurship and innovation, according to a recent U.S. Chamber of Commerce report. About 200 companies across the state have created between 300 and 500 jobs after going through the Bozeman-based incubator.
