Senator Baucus Asks Montanans To Share Ideas For Cutting The Deficit

Senator Will Use Montana Input to Guide His Efforts on Bipartisan Deficit Reduction Committee

Montana’s senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus is asking Montanans to share their ideas for reducing the deficit. Baucus is asking for innovative ideas with practical approaches that could realistically be brought to the table and implemented. He will use Montanans’ input to guide his work with colleagues on the special bipartisan Deficit Reduction Committee to reduce the deficit and move the country forward in a way that helps create jobs.

"I’m never surprised, but always impressed by the smart, innovative and practical feedback I get from Montanans every time I’m home, and this August was no exception. Montanans manage budgets for businesses, farms, ranches and households every day. They know first-hand what works when it comes to creating jobs, and they have good ideas to move our country forward. Montanans use common sense and know how to work together, which is exactly what Washington needs more of these days," Baucus said. "That’s why I’m asking Montanans to share their innovation and common sense to help guide our work on the Deficit Reduction Committee. Together, we can move our country forward in a way that creates jobs and gets us back to living within our means."

Baucus is asking Montanans to submit their ideas through the "Cutting the Debt: Share your Ideas with Max" http://baucus.senate.gov/?p=deficit_committee form found through the homepage of his website at http://www.baucus.senate.gov. Baucus asks Montanans to work with him to elevate the level of political debate by reserving this form for realistic, productive ideas to move the country forward.

Montanans who prefer to mail written comments can send their ideas to:
