Great Falls airport losing nearly half of local business

According to a new study, the Great Falls International Airport is only retaining 51% of air travelers in our area.

The study, done by Sixel Consulting Group, shows that out of 580,000 travelers, about 280,000 travel to other airports in Montana to fly.

In daily terms, the airport loses an estimated 389 passengers to other markets.

The study says the main reason for the "leakage" is price discrepancies between Great Falls and other Montana airports when traveling to larger markets such as New York.
