Boise-based startup BookLamp looks at books a different way – BookLamp.org

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

BookLamp, the fruit from years of tinkering with software and words by a group of self-described data nerds, debuted online today.

http://www.BookLamp.org was created to help readers find new books by comparing the content of the books, similar to the way that Pandora.com matches music lovers to new music, said Aaron Stanton, originator of the concept and CEO of Novel Projects Inc./BookLamp.

He said BookLamp leads readers to books with similar themes and writing styles by comparing elements such as description, pacing, density, and dialog, while allowing them to add specific details such as "medieval weapons."
