Invitation: Resume Critiques & Mock Interviews at UM Business School Fall Semester 2011

Career Development Program Partners,

I know it’s hard to believe we are sending invitations for Resume Critiques & Mock Interviews in mid-September already, but we are busy planning another round of great career development events & programs thanks to your participation & partnership. As you know, one of our main goals is to teach students lifelong job search skills, so that they are effective in their search for employment throughout their career. Effective job search skills are even more crucial in our current economy.

Two years ago we moved the required Resume Critiques & Mock Interviews to the sophomore level to begin helping students even earlier in their college career. From what we’ve seen, these sophomore-level students really need your feedback to be successful in pursuing internships, summer jobs, & career positions. Your help is an enormous boost to their ability to market themselves for the rest of their careers! In addition to helping future business people develop, these programs also remain a great recruiting tool and offer good visibility for your organization. Whatever the reason, we hope you can join us in preparing the next generation of worker for success!

We have scheduled the following Resume Critique & Mock Interview sessions for the fall & invite you to join us in helping to prepare students:

Resume Critiques:

· Friday, September 16th – 9:00am-11:00am

· Friday, September 16th – 11:30am-1:30pm

· Friday, September 23rd – 9:00am-11:00am

· Friday, September 23rd – 11:30am-1:30pm

· Wednesday, September 28th – 2:30pm-4:30pm

Mock Interviews:

· Friday, September 16th – 9:00am-11:00am

· Friday, September 16th – 11:30am-1:30pm

· Friday, , September 23rd – 9:00am-11:00am

· Friday, , September 23rd – 11:30am-1:30pm

· Wednesday, September 28th – 2:30pm-4:30pm

I hope your schedule will allow you to participate in providing this key learning opportunity for our students. We continue to hear from our partners how much they enjoy doing these critiques, meeting the students, & hearing about their plans. Students continue to tell us how much this program does for their preparation & excitement about their career plans.
