Maya Angelou To Give Free Lecture At MSU Sept. 13

Acclaimed writer Maya Angelou http://mayaangelou.com/ will give a free public lecture at Montana State University on Sept. 13, the MSU Leadership Institute http://www.montana.edu/leadership/ announced Thursday.

"We are thrilled," said Carmen McSpadden, Leadership Institute director. "We are working very hard to bring it to the students and community free of charge — a very special opportunity for our town."

Angelou, 83, a best-selling author and activist, will speak at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse at 7:30 p.m.

As part of the event, MSU President Waded Cruzado will award Angelou the MSU Presidential Medal for Global and Visionary Leadership.
