Montana State Online undergrad courses now open for fall

Online undergraduate courses at Montana State University are now open for fall registration. Several courses fulfill core requirements, and all courses are presented completely online and begin Aug. 29.

"Human Nutrition" (HDFN 221CS) is taught by Melody Anacker and covers basic concepts of human nutrition and includes a personal dietary project. The three-credit course meets Core 2.0 requirements and has no pre-requisites.

"Lifespan Human Development" (HDCF 150IS) covers classic and contemporary theories, research and applications for human growth and development throughout the life cycle. The three-credit course is taught by Holly Hunts and meets Core 2.0 requirements.

"Human Response to Stress" (HDHL 410), covers the human body’s biophysical reactions to stress, and includes an investigation of techniques for managing stress. The three-credit course is taught by Dawn Tarabochia. Junior standing is a prerequisite.

MSU also offers its freshman seminar, "Education, Social Issues and the Digital Age" (US 121US), online. The inter-disciplinary course emphasizes critical thinking, communication and support of ideas and intellectual development, as students discuss current issues with a focus on social media and living in the digital age. Texts include "127 Hours: Between a Rock and a Hard Place," by Aron Ralston, which is MSU’s 2011 convocation summer reading book, and Plato’s "Last Days of Socrates." The course fulfills three credits of MSU’s University Seminar (US) core requirement.
