Montana Telecommunications Association 2011 Annual Meeting – Registration Information

2011 MTA ANNUAL MEETING

ROCK CREEK RESORT, MT

AUGUST 1-3

TELCO REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Come join us in Red Lodge, Montana – Gateway to Yellowstone National Park and the base of spectacular Beartooth Pass. Experience true Western hospitality in this quaint, historic, mountain town, while attending one of the nation’s premiere telecommunications policy conferences.

The Annual Meeting begins with networking activities on Monday, August 1st featuring the annual golf tournament headed up by Master of Ceremonies Bill Squires (SVP, Blackfoot Communications and MTA President) and the annual fly fishing expedition, "guided" by Master of all Rivers Geoff Feiss (GM, MTA). Proceeds from the golf & fly fishing events support MTA’s Scholarship Fund.

The President’s Reception will follow the golf and fishing activities on Monday evening and will be held on site out on the patio. Come mingle with guests and friends while enjoying some delicious hors d’oeuvres.

The General Session begins on Tuesday morning, August 2nd focusing on national perspectives. The Annual Meeting program includes invited speakers from Capitol Hill; national industry leaders; state and federal regulatory commissioners and other government executives; Tribal leaders; industry analysts, academics, and consultants and national telecom media professionals.

Our Annual Banquet will be held Tuesday evening and we are going offsite to The Bear Creek Saloon & Steakhouse, home of the Pig Races! You heard it right! Visitors can bet on the pig of their choice; featuring such stars as Makin’ Bacon, Knuckles, and Notta Hot Dog; and then the race begins. In classic Kentucky Derby fashion, the pigs are released from their chutes and race around the oval track. There’s no fee to watch the pig races, however, it’s a good idea to bring some cash to bet on your favorite pig. The winning proceeds are spilt, half donated toward local scholarships for students in Carbon County.

We finish up on our meeting Wednesday morning with a focus state telecom policy perspectives. Invited speakers include local and state government officials, telecom executives and community leaders.

MTA, in its 56th year, represents telecommunications service providers serving over 90 percent of Montana’s residential and business consumers. MTA members offer a full spectrum of advanced communications services, including broadband data and video telecommunications solutions for commercial, residential, health care, education, emergency and other markets. MTA members have invested over $1 billion in Montana’s telecommunications infrastructure and continue to invest approximately $100 million each year in new facilities and services throughout the state. They provide access to broadband Internet service to over three-quarters, and often nearly 100%, of their customers. MTA members employ, with outstanding salaries and benefits, nearly 800 proud Montanans who are dedicated to their jobs, their communities and the state’s economic development.

As always, MTA appreciates your participation and continued support.
