City Club Missoula – Montana DEQ director: Drinking water wells tainted with sewage, drugs

Finding prescription drugs in Montanans’ drinking water has been a bit of good news for Department of Environmental Quality director Richard Opper.

When the state is trying to balance the demands of housing development with protecting public water supplies, the drug issue is easier to explain than more prevalent problems like excess nitrogen and phosphorous.
