Boise statistics paint a stark picture of the state of the city

Boise Mayor Dave Bieter has led the city as it has ricocheted from one of its largest growth spurts to one of its worst recessions.
When he gives his eighth State of the City address this week, it will be in the context of that economic slump. In just five years, foreclosures have increased tenfold and unemployment has more than tripled in Boise.
