Group Promotes Workplace Safety in Montana

A Montana organization is working hard to promote the principles of workplace safety, as Montana once again tops the list as one of the deadliest states to work in.

According to latest data released by AFL-CIO, a national labor union, Montana’s workplace fatality rate is 10.8 per 100,000 workers in 2009, the highest in the nation. The figures translate to 50 on-the-job deaths.

Nearby Wyoming, which topped the list in 2008’s data with 11.6 per 100,000 workers, had 6.8 deaths per 100,000 workers.
