Concerned About Secondary Markets, NVCA To Urge Members To Set Policies

The hot market for trading shares of private companies such as Facebook Inc. and Twitter Inc. worries the leadership of the National Venture Capital Association, which is meeting this week in Boston.

The organization, which represents most major venture capital firms in the U.S., will urge its members to adopt policies regarding the trading of private-company shares on exchanges such as Second Market, said Paul Maeder, the NVCA’s chairman-elect and a general partner at Highland Capital Partners, in an interview with VentureWire.
