Announcing Montana Energy Intern Program

On behalf of The Governor’s Office of Community Service, we are pleased to let you know that the Governor’s Energy Intern website http://energyintern.com/ is now up and running accepting applications.

In partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Department of Commerce, Energy Promotion and Development Division the energy internship offers students in Montana an opportunity to gain real life work experience while providing businesses like yours with capable and productive Montana university students.

We would like to invite you to be one of the first businesses to apply for hosting an intern. Please complete an application available on the website, so we can get the process started to select host sites and students.

Students who complete a 200 hour Governor’s Energy Internship with your business or organization will receive $2,000 credit toward a Montana higher education institution in which they are enrolled. This internship is made possible with funding from the U.S. Department of Education College Access Challenge Grant Program. Governor Schweitzer has requested the funds build collaboration within the education and workforce systems to foster a post-secondary education culture, to better prepare our workforce and strengthen the economy.

If you have specific students in mind, please coordinate your interest with a Montana campus as the student must also apply for an internship. Please indicate on your application that you are working with a campus already.

We look forward to working with you to meet these goals!
