To learn true leadership, CEOs must think and act like head coach

Leaders fail for many reasons. But since that observation isn’t helpful, let’s delve deeper.

It’s said that humans are pattern-seeking animals. So are there patterns to failing at leadership? I believe so. CEOs fail largely through self-limiting behavior but also by technical incompetence. Let’s review some patterns:
