Microsoft executive and Montana Ambassador, Sean Thompson to keynote Tester jobs workshop in Missoula on Feb. 23

Butte native Thompson to speak at Senator’s sixth Small Business Opportunity Workshop on Feb. 23

Senator Jon Tester today announced that Butte native Sean Thompson, a top executive at Microsoft, will deliver the keynote address at Tester’s upcoming Small Business Opportunity Workshop in Missoula Wednesday, February 23.

Thompson is Microsoft’s Managing Director and is in charge of developing and managing strategic alliances within the software market. Prior to joining Microsoft, Thompson worked at Nimble Technology, Drugstore.com, and Deloitte and Touche, a worldwide professional services firm.

Thompson will deliver the keynote speech at Tester’s sixth Small Business Opportunity Workshop. The Missoula workshop will focus on boosting entrepreneurship and will bring successful small business owners together with new and emerging entrepreneurs, bankers, angel fund lessons and other financing opportunities.

Dozens of small businesses from around Montana are scheduled to take part in panel discussions throughout the day. Through his six small business seminars, Tester has connected over 1,000 Montanans with innovative marketing tools, financing information, and general and government contracting opportunities.

Tester’s Missoula jobs workshop will be at the University of Montana’s University Center from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Montanans interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP at tester.senate.gov/workshop.
