Ravalli County rescinds contract with Big Sky Institute for the Advancement of Non-Profits
January 31, 2011 /
Citing lack of legal authority, the Ravalli County commissioners on Friday voted to deny a contract with a nonprofit "capacity builder."
The Big Sky Institute for the Advancement of Non-Profits wanted $5,000 from Ravalli County to assist in research and planning to help strengthen Ravalli County nonprofit organizations.
The previous commission voted 3-2 in December to award $5,000 to the institute, with the money to be taken from the commissioners’ special projects fund. But in their first week on the job, the current commission voted to take another look at that partnership.
