Great Falls, Montana hosts regional business leadership conference

Sporting suits, ties and portfolios, more than 300 students from around the region got a taste of the professional business world during a regional competition held Monday at C.M. Russell High School.

The Region 3 Leadership conference for the high school club Business Professionals of America brought students to Great Falls to compete in different professional-setting activities such as demonstrating word processing skills or graphic design.

They were met by more than 70 volunteer judges from the community who critiqued their work and tested their skills.

Students were not only critiqued on the projects or tests they completed, but also on demonstrated professional behavior and attire.

"It kind of gives them that real-world flavor," said Kelly Parsons, business teacher and BPA adviser at CMR. "It gives them that confidence they need."
