Missoula city, county set up sites to track bills in Montana Legislature

Technology is offering a peek into Missoula’s lobbying in Helena.

Missoula city and county both use websites to track legislation in Helena. This year, members of the public can get a look at those sites as well.

"It gives immediate access to anybody in the city who wants to know where we’re at on something," city chief administrative officer Bruce Bender said Tuesday.

The city of Missoula is online at http;//www.missoulainsession.com/. Missoula County uses a blog at http://www.mtlegislature2011.blogspot.com. Both agencies used internal online bill tracking during the last session, but county communications and project manager Anne Hughes said the county this year is inviting the public to view the forum and staff comments.
