New Calif. governor takes away cellphones from 48K state workers

Looking high and low for money to plug California’s $25 billion budget gap, Gov. Jerry Brown is taking away state-paid cellphones from half the 96,000 workers who have them, the Los Angeles Times reports. That’s projected to save $20 million a year.
