In State of the State, Gov. Christie to Call for Education Overhaul

In his first State of the State address, Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday will call for an overhaul of public education in New Jersey, including paying teachers based partly on how well they do their jobs, making it easier to fire teachers who do not perform, and closing failing schools, according to excerpts of the speech released by his office.
