"Blue Skies Green Pockets" City of Billings, Montana partners with Montana State University Billings to promote energy conservation

A public-information campaign aimed at helping Billings residents and businesses save money by reducing their energy use was officially launched Monday.

The "Blue Skies Green Pockets" campaign is the result of a partnership between the city of Billings and Montana State University Billings. Student interns from the school created a website for the campaign and also produced a series of advertisements that are to begin running on local television stations this week.

The interns, from the Department of Communications and Theatre, Public Administration and the College of Business, also developed a marketing campaign and conducted a public opinion survey to gauge public attitudes about and knowledge of energy-saving ideas. A follow-up survey will be done next summer to measure the success of the marketing campaign.
