We caught up with the company’s leader, George Manlove, who serves as chairman, president and CEO of Vann’s Inc., and he shared his thoughts about business in the following question-and-answer interview.

Manlove brings almost 30 years of retail and high-technology experience to his position, including 23 years at Vann’s. Before joining Vann’s, Manlove worked for Apple Computer Inc. He is recognized within the electronics and appliance retail industry for his vision in integrating national e-commerce into a successful Montana retail company. During his tenure, he has led Vann’s to unprecedented growth. Manlove also serves as chairman of the Progressive Retailers Organization. He is a graduate of the School of Business Administration at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Lawsuit: Former Vann’s CEO, CFO drove company into ‘ruin’

A lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court accuses the former executives of Vann’s Inc. of driving a “moderately successful company into financial ruin” after they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in company money on inflated rent to pay for personal properties and thousands more on personal expenses, including trips to Las Vegas, expensive shoes and business school tuition.
