Media artist’s computer creations go beyond eye candy, Twigg Arts, Inc.

Greg Twigg works locally and nationally on such computer projects as those for the Montana Rep’s "Steel Magnolias" and HBO’s upcoming documentary, "Fortitute and Glory."

Greg Twigg has just shown me two foot-high glass obelisks rising up from his desk. They are Montana Addie awards (first place golds), bestowed upon creators of the most original and effective advertisements currently being made in the state.
"I haven’t won anything like this since the pinewood derby in Cub Scouts," Twigg jokes. The Addies are for two animated spots he made last year, promoting "Steel Magnolias" and "A Street Car Named Desire" for the Montana Rep. If he isn’t making digital commercials, he might be helping a nonprofit – such the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival – build a new and improved Web site. And if he’s not doing that, he’s at the university teaching students how to take more command of their computers and the ever expansive suite of Web/motion design software that inhabits them.

These days, though, he’s keeping busy at all three.
