Tightrope: Is 8 too young to be an entrepreneur?
Greetings, Gladys. How young is too young to encourage entrepreneurship? My 8-year-old came home from school today and told us he wants to be an entrepreneur NOW. My husband says we should encourage him and show him how to do something simple like start a lemonade stand. I have no idea where he got the idea; neither my husband nor I are in business. A child should stay a child as long as possible. And it’s difficult for me to see an 8 year-old as an entrepreneur. — M.L.
