Learning comes naturally at Missoula Community School

"Progressive" is a loaded term, but when it comes to education it’s simple for Linn Veen.

"At this age," said the director of the Missoula Community School http://www.missoulacommunityschool.org/ , "it means that we encourage kids to work together, to play together and to problem-solve together."

"Play together" they did last week, 3- to 5-year-old boys and girls zipping down a student-constructed slide, building towering structures with wood blocks and making geometric shapes from colored slabs of plastic during an "open school" session where children are free to roam their school.
