Virginia government agencies again hit by computer outage

A firewall failure yesterday at the Virginia Information Technologies Agency’s Chesterfield County center interrupted IT services across many state agencies, including the Department of Motor Vehicles, which had to halt driver’s license transactions.

It was perhaps the widest disruption since the massive outage that crippled services across state agencies for eight days starting at the end of August.
