Columbia Power Technologies wins at Venture Northwest

Columbia Power Technologies won the "people’s choice award" at Venture Northwest this afternoon, chosen ahead of nine other startups http://blog.oregonlive.com/siliconforest/2010/10/venture_northwest_chooses_2010.html by conference attendees.

The annual Portland confab, sponsored by the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, gathers early-stage companies and venture capitalists looking to invest in promising young businesses.

Corvallis-based Columbia Power http://www.columbiapwr.com/ , which has ties to Oregon State University, is developing technology to convert wave energy into electricity.

Today’s award doesn’t guarantee any investment. Instead, Columbia Power wins a prize package valued at $27,000 in goods and services from business services firms, airlines, hotels and others.
