Butte supercomputer slashes project times

When the staff of Missoula’s GCS Research Inc. http://www.gcs-research.com/ ran its own computers to model how a forest fire would burn in a specific area using data including weather, fuel characteristics, geography and so on -it took 22 hours to complete.
When the models were run through Rocky Mountain Supercomputing Centers’ http://www.rmscinc.org/ supercomputer, the output took 10 minutes.
