University of Montana Student-Produced Program on Sept. 30 Features Montana Businesses

Students in The University of Montana Department of Radio-Television will premiere the latest edition of "Business: Made in Montana" on Montana Public Television stations Thursday, Sept. 30.

The program will air on MontanaPBS at 7:30 p.m. It features businesses from around the state that produce products such as specialty cheeses and gourmet mustard.

Businesses highlighted in the program include Amaltheia Organic Dairy Farm in Belgrade , JuJu Gear in Big Sky , the Montana Emu Ranch in Kalispell , HCR Industries in Lewistown , Nine Fingers Mustard in Laurel and Montana Monster Munchies in Bozeman .

Students who were juniors last spring in UM’s radio-television program came up with the ideas, did the research and interviews, and wrote and edited the individual stories. Katie Mansfield of Helena anchors the program.

"Business: Made in Montana" is now in its 17th year of production. Advisers for the program are UM radio-television Professor Ray Ekness and Associate Professor Denise Dowling, who chairs the department.
