September 18, 2010 /
Idaho State University is pushing ahead on two programs that aim to generate new businesses out of university research.
University officials are nearing completion on plans to set up a new technology transfer office that will help faculty and students patent their ideas, license them to existing companies or launch their own startups. The university’s College of Business is also trying to bolster and promote a new program called Bengal Solutions that offers market research to startups and makes MBA students and faculty available for a wide range of services.
