Economic boost in Western States awaits transmission upgrades

Idaho and other western states need to invest millions of dollars in transmission lines to continue producing and selling renewable energy, say business and government officials who are familiar with the industry.

At stake is a major industry that is expected to boost the state’s economy and create thousands of jobs.
