BILL PAYNE TO TEACH ANGEL INVESTING COURSE IN MISSOULA

The Montana Angel initiative is kicking off the fall by offering the full day course, Angel Investing Overview led by Bill Payne, http://www.billpayne.com . With new studies showing that all net new jobs come from new companies less than five years old, the Montana Angel Network will redouble its efforts to cultivate, educate and support a network of early stage capital for Montana entrepreneurs who intend to scale a business.

Bill Payne arrived back in Montana from 5 months in New Zealand just in time to speak at Senator Tester’s Small Business Summit on July 9th in Kalispell. While in New Zealand, Mr. Payne taught and advanced the angel community as Faculty in Residence at the University of Auckland. He has agreed to teach his award winning “semester in a day” course, Angel Investing Overview before he returns to Nevada for the winter season. Mr. Payne is a part time Montana resident.

Anyone who works with entrepreneurs who want to build businesses that employ people and need equity capital will find this a very valuable investment of time and money.

The course will use a curriculum Mr. Payne helped develop with the Kauffman Foundation and the Angel Capital Education Foundation. The seminar is being offered as part of the Montana Angel Network Initiative of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Big Sky Angels, a Missoula based angel network chaired by Dr. Dave Opitz. Event sponsors include the University of Montana Office of Technology Transfer, Datsopoulas, MacDonald Lind, Heutmaker Law and Dorsey Whitney Law Firm.

The course will be taught on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Hilton Garden Inn on Reserve Street in Missoula. It will include continental breakfast, lunch and end of day networking. The cost is $150 per person inclusive.
