Why do businesses fail?

Time and time again I hear on the radio news shows, read in the papers or on line – that the number one reason for small company failure is a lack of funding. This annoys me for two reasons. FIrst, it’s not true. Second, it so simplistic as to be unnoticed for it’s error.

Nurse: "Why did the patient die Doctor?"

Doctor: "His heart stopped."

Why did the business fail? It ran out of money. End of story right? NO!
