Casper business incubator bidding set for October

Plans for the controversial business incubator on the former Amoco refinery site, now known as the Platte River Commons, are being drafted, Casper Area Economic Development Alliance President and CEO Robert Barnes said Thursday.

Barnes expects the bids for the Casper Area Business Innovation Center to be let at the end of October; the low bid should be determined by the end of November and construction is expected to begin in January, he told the quarterly meeting of the Economic Development Joint Powers Board. The board is composed of representatives of the city of Casper, Natrona County, and an at-large member.

If that schedule is followed, the incubator would be ready by April 2012, he added.
