Western Governors’ Association –

Western governors said today that the absence of a cohesive federal policy on the use of biomass for energy production could negatively impact efforts to improve forest health and to increase local and state investments in renewable energy projects, and they called on the Administration to make it a top priority.

Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter (Idaho), Chairman of the Western Governors’ Association, and Gov. Christine O. Gregoire (Wash.), Vice Chairman, expressed their concerns in a letter today to Carol Browner, Climate Change and Energy Advisor to President Obama. The text of the letter follows:
