Know your niche, know your customers.
It sounds like good business advice, and we hear such platitudes frequently, but what does it mean? How does a businessperson or entrepreneur get that knowledge?
Recently, Simona Stan, a University of Montana School of Business Administration marketing professor, and Charlie Stortz, vice president of Missoula-based international technology company Logisys, were willing to tackle this nuanced topic of niche marketing and provide some enlightenment for the Missoulian’s InBusiness readers.
“From a theoretical perspective, niche marketing starts from the idea that nobody can satisfy everybody and nobody can satisfy all of the consumers,” Stan said.
