Seattle based, Blue Marble Biomaterials plans to open plant in Corvallis, Montana

A Seattle company on Friday announced plans to open a three-ton-per-day biomaterial conversion plant in Corvallis by the end of 2010.

Blue Marble Biomaterials http://bluemarblebio.com/ says it will used pioneered technology to convert biomass ranging from food waste to grass clippings into carbon-neutral petroleum products. The resulting material will be used as fragrances in food and cosmetics products.

Company co-founder and CEO Kelly Ogilvie said the zero-emission, zero-waste plant will operate in warehouse in Corvallis which could be ramped up to produce 33 tons of the material per day.
